Day 1 – Arrival Chennai

Meeting and assistance on arrival at Madurai airport and transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 - Chennai

After breakfast visit Kapaleshwar Temple, Fort St. George, Government Museum. Evening free to relax.

Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 3 – Chennai / Mahabalipuram / Pondicherry

After breakfast 3 hrs drive to Mahabalipuram. Visit Thirukadalmallai, Shore Temple, Pancha Pandava Rathas, Arjuna’s Penance, Caves, and Krishna’s Butterball.

Later we drive south following the coast to Pondicherry. Pondicherry still enjoys a hint of its French colonial atmosphere in the grid pattern streets, distinctive police uniforms and the occasional colonial building.

Day 4 – Pondicherry / Trichy

After breakfast sightseeing of Pondicherry visiting Pondicherry Beach, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Boat House, Auroville, Museum. Later 4 hrs drive to Trichy.

On arrival check into Trichy hotel.

Day 5 - Tanjore & Trichy

After breakfast sightseeing tour of Tanjore & Trichy famous for its ancient temples.

Overnight stat at hotel

Day 6 – Trichy / Madurai

After breakfast drive to Madurai. On arrival check in to your hotel.

Madurai is a famous for The Meenakshi temple and explore the bazaar of this vibrant and colourful city. Evening we will attend a prayer ceremony.

Day 7 – Madurai / Periyar

After breakfast drive 2 hrs to Periyar, famous for its spices, tea and coffee plantations passing through the lush green countryside. Periyar is also one of the most beautiful national reserves of India.

Day 8 – Periyar

After breakfast jungle excursion by boat with naturalist in the Periyar National Park. Afternoon bullock cart ride (if available) and visit to spice plantations. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 9 – Periyar / Kumarakom

After breakfast drive 4 hrs to Kumarakom, in the backwaters of beautiful Kerala. On arrival check in to houseboat.

On arrival you will have your lunch served onboard.

Kumarakom is a cluster of Islands on the Vembanad Lake in backwaters of Kerala. Famous novel “The God of small things” written Arundhati Roy is set in the Aymanam village, adjoining Kumarakom.

Cruise through the lakes, waterways and backwaters. You will be able to view the country life on the banks of waterways. Lunch and dinner will be served on the houseboat.

Day 10 – Kumarakom / Alleppey / Cochin

After breakfast check out from houseboat and drive 1.5 hrs to Cochin.

Cochin or Kochi is a major tourist centre today and attracts people from across the globe. The Chinese fishing nets swaying in the breeze, the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, Portuguese architecture, Bolgatty Palace in Kochi, rich the heritage of Kerala.

Evening visit a nearby theatre to see a show of Kathakali, the traditional dance form of Kerala.

Day 11 – Cochin / Wayanad

After breakfast drive 3 hrs to Wayanad. On arrival check into your Resort.

Wayanad is a green paradise, located in the Western Ghats. The land, clean, pristine and enchanting is filled with the history, arts and culture. Wayanad is full of plantations, forests and wildlife. It also forms the vast land mass for the movement of wildlife. It is strategically located, as most of the tourist centres of the region are located around it.

Evening free for independent activities or nature walk in the surrounding areas. Overnight stay at Hotel

Day 12 – Wayanad

After breakfast visit to Edakkal caves will be organised. They are considered to be of great importance in the history of the region. It is believed that the caves were formed by the arrows shot by the sons of Rama, legendary hero of the epic, Ramayana. Afternoon visit coffee and rubber plantations.

Day 13 – Wayanad / Mysore

After noon drive 3 hrs to Mysore, the ancient capital of the kingdom of Mysore, ruled by the Wodeyar Rulers and later by Haider Ali and Tipu Sultan. Mysore, also known as the city of palaces is a popular tourist destination which attracts visitors from across the globe. It is also famous for arts and handicrafts along with the sandalwood and silk sarees. Dussehra, a hindu festival is celebrated with great zeal over a period of 10 days here.

Evening free time to explore the markets full of arts and handicrafts and mingle with the lovely and friendly people from the city.

Day 14 – Mysore / Bangalore

After breakfast city sightseeing of Mysore visiting The Maharaja Palace, Chamundi Hills, St Philemona Church and the other palaces. Later drive to Bangalore.

Bangalore, now renamed Bengaluru is known as the Garden city. In 2009, it has been inducted into the Global Cities and ranked as “Beta World City” alongside cities such as Geneva, Copenhagen, Boston and Berlin. Banglore is today known as the Silicon city of India because of its position as Leader in IT exports. Once the centre of the British rule, it is a growing metropolis today and a major economic and cultural hub. It is truly a combination of Old world charm and the hustle and bustle of Modern city.

Day 15 – Bangalore / Departure

After breakfast transfer to Bangalore airport to board flight for onward destination.
